The training program is self-paced. You can start whenever you like!
The program consists of 20 training sessions from a past Teacher Training course offered in 2024.
Each recording is around 75 to 90 minutes. If you listen to one recording a week, it will take you about 5 to 6 months to finish the recordings.
Our classes are different from other menstruation courses. Whereas most stick to teaching a traditional text, we strive to give teachers the tools to teach this knowledge to the masses in a way that they can comprehend, as well as providing an insight of how to deal with common menstruation issues in today’s times.
Additionally, you will be personally trained by a menstruation expert to be very proficient in the rulings and prepared to deliver this knowledge to your community insha’Allah.
Ustadha Naielah will answer your questions, train you with how to answer student questions, give personal feedback on your quizzes, honor your space to express your thoughts, and much more.
The recorded classes consist of a mixture of topics:
- The knowledge included in ‘A Muslim Woman’s Guide to Menstruation Rulings’ taught at a teacher’s standard.
- Topics related to modern-day medical issues, as well as giving students the foundational principles for basic problem-solving.
- Common mistakes that women and teachers make are addressed.
- Common questions that women and teachers ask are mentioned.
- Student questions. Students can ask their related questions on the student forum or via private email.
For each recording, there are assigned chapters to read from ‘A Muslim Woman’s Guide To Menstruation Rulings.’
There is a mandatory quiz for each recording, which is based on the recording and the assigned reading.
Quizzes mainly consist of short essays. Students are expected to memorize the rulings and be able to explain them with detail.
There is additional optional reading about the concepts mentioned. Students are provided with a weekly reading list.
As for how much time it will take, students should estimate dedicating around two to three hours of additional time outside of the weekly recording to prepare for the quizzes inshaAllah.
The final assessment consists of testing the student’s understanding of the theory taught through a live student presentation. Students will be asked to teach certain topics from the book to Ustadha Naielah in a live zoom call. This will help ensure that students not only learn the theory, but they are guided on how to teach it inshaAllah.
A student can only arrange a live zoom call with Ustadha Naielah after they have completed all the quizzes and achieved a cumulative score of 85%.
There is no formal certification (ijaza) for this course. Rather, we test the students knowledge and give a passing mark. Our belief is that teacher training programs should focus on helping students to become well-rounded teachers who are equipped to impart knowledge, whereas formal certification (ijaza) comes after years of training.
Students who pass the final assessment will receive approval to teach Ustadha Naielah Ackbarali’s ‘Fiqh of Menstruation Simplified’ and ‘Blossom: A Muslim Girl’s Period Guide‘ in their local community.
There are two payment options.
